The music of Algeria is pure of its tradition and culture and also symbolizes the people with a harmony of stunning voice. A folk music called Sha-bii is broadly famous in which the words are poetic in nature which depicts the everyday life of Algeria. The renowned performers of the Algerian music are El Hajj Muhammed El Anka, Amour Abdenour, Boudjenaa Agraw, Abdou and Algerian Vocalist Khaled and many more.
El Hajj Muhammed El Anka is one of the most creative songwriter and taught many generations of Algeria. He has written over 350 songs and record around 130 songs. Today his music is still prevalent and played and also his swing towards popular culture is as strong as forever.
Amour Abdenour is an Algerian Kabyle singer composer and musician. Boudjenaa Agraw is a key artist of modern Algerian Kabyle music in 1970 and 1980s. Abdou is a well-known live artist and have highly emotional voice in Algeria. He is also known as ‘The Boy George of rai music.
